An age-old tradition, cast plaques have been a standard for commemoration and recognition literally for centuries. Yet just in my lifetime, hand set type has replaced by photographic typographical reproduction which meant that logos and anyone's typestyle preferences could be reproduced in bronze perfectly. This photographic advancement in castings (bronze and aluminum) is called "Imagecast" by Matthews, is a natural "next step" for the industry.

As giving relates to the trends that fundraisers can anticipate, major gifts continue, and the future for anticipating their continuation is bright. Annual giving and a focus on annual events, on the other hand, must be carefully monitored and evaluated.

The bottom-line seems to be that an awareness of national trends for fundraisers must be tempered with a focus and understanding of their local economies and donor activities. Though this may read as simplistic, I think the warning here is not to become caught up in national media drama and hyperbole. Successful fundraisers will be those who study, understand and act assertively within their own backyards.

The onsite review, presented here, is actually a powerfully effective way for a fundraiser to manage the approval of concepts while also building excitement among all who see it. From this point on, everyone who leaves this meeting, from the President to construction site coordinator, has a beautiful mental image of major donors about to be honored in a way uniquely theirs.

So at this moment, my/our ideas for their public recognition program are about to be implemented. It’s my very favorite meeting. Images within a client’s imagination of what he thought he needed are now being replaced by the reality of our creativity And our creativity has been applied to the realism of an actual built environment of architectural spaces, client’s messaging requirements and over-arching strict budgets. This one image conjures a lot of pride in me.
