And the Award Goes to . . . Dania Beck
“This is a big deal!” So said George Maynard, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center about the Best Practitioner in Donor Recognition Award bestowed on Dania Beck, Annual Giving Manager for the hospital system.
Dania has been a leader there in the development of a comprehensive donor relations program that integrates new media for donor cultivation, stewardship and recognition. Moving to the Office of Philanthropy and Partnership from the hospital’s marketing team, Dania’s first responsibilities were centered specifically on e-Philanthropy. In that capacity she initiated the Virtual Toy Drive for their Children’s Hospital and other e-philanthropy programs that continue to raise awareness as well as funds for much needed patient support items. Dania’s creativity and dedication to using new media to drive her program have been instrumental in building a rapidly expanding donor base for the hospital system. Continue reading »

Among those in attendance were the Dean for the School, Valerie Morris, EVP of Business Affairs, Steve Osborne, Director of Operations, Kathryn Norton and EVP of Institutional Advancement, George Watt, who gave a toast to mark the occasion. The Cato-Simons display marks the juncture of the new Marion and Wayland H. Cato Jr. Center for the Arts and the existing Simon Center for the Arts and follows an initial installation of donor recognition plaques in January 2010 for the grand opening of the Center. This new decade heralds significant changes for Donor Relations and its influence on fundraising success. We see that these emerging trends share a common theme: to build better relationships with donors as a means of fostering greater giving. As is the case with all relationships in our current crowded, information-saturated world, the emphasis will be on the quality, not the quantity, of donor interactions.
